  • Does anybody know seller d.apparel?

    Hi TKNZers

I hope it's OK to post this thread here... if not, mods please delete it.
Does anybody know the Trade Me seller d.apparel (Seb) from Wellington?
He has a few watches listed, a number of Seikos. Wondering if he's legit.

    Thanks in advance!

I would say it is fine to ask, chua, and even do so in the General forum. As long as there's no intention to promote listing, it does not violate any of our forum rules.

Personally, I have not traded with d.apparel, but I've just looked through his trade history. There, I see many familiar names who have been regulars on the TradeMe watch section. Again, I have no direct experience, so will leave it to others here to add.

Don - Thanks for confirming. It's a shame our paths didn't cross while you were at the uni.

gdj - Thank you too. I'm sure you will have no issues. Enjoy your new addition.

Received my Tissot Seastar Powermatic 80 today by courier at work . Good communication from seller and Tissot box wrapped in strong brown paper sitting on several layers of foam then in another box again again well sealed .
Very happy with trader . Gerald

Thanks gdj! I've been in e-mail contact with him and he seems like a good guy. Good to know he's a good professional seller from your experience.
              Cheers!

I've been interested in a few of his prices before.
Is he legit ? I'd say so.
is he selling frankens? Thats more what I would be asking...

This is, I think, one of the problems of an auction over, say, a classified. Yes, I understand that the seller is ultimately responsible for accurate description of the item. However, if a seller lists a box set for $20--regardless of whether he/she say they are "Rolex", replica counterfeit, or "unsure"--it is safe to say the seller thinks it is fake and selling for what it is. When it's a $1 Reserve auction, more of the responsibility falls to the buyer to make a judgement... As with most things in life, the more people showing interest by Watching and bidding, the more desirable an item seem to others. The effect is amplified. I observe that, for any well-known desirable brand item, a $1 Reserve auction benefits the seller and the auction platform, rarely the buyer.
