Great shots The DB and Steinhart are famous for keeping peeps awake and I'm amazed that the PloProf still shines like that. I thought that the lume from those days naturally deteriorated with age but obviously not.

                      SEIKO SBDX001: equipped with Lumi-Brite.

'Lumi-Brite, a Japanese invention, created 1993 by Nemoto & Co.

Europeans (Swiss etc) are licensed usage of the product under the name 'Lumi-Nova'.

Seiko wristwatches first had their displays treated to this non-radioactve luminescent material 1994.'

Kenzo Nemoto began his lume business at the start of WWII, supplying aircraft, warships & submarines with lumed metres & gauges.

Once the war had finished, at a bit of a lost end, he had the idea of equipping kitchen clocks etc with lumed dials & approached SEIKO, the rest is history....'

So, attempted to merge the 2 'Lume' threads into one, for coherency... no idea what went array, it says it was done, it says theres 72 posts in this thread but they're not visible (from here anyway).

Fortunately, we'd backed ourselves, and have the shots still, all manually saved, and here they are... 5-6 posts of '5 individual posts' each'... by no means near as nice as original for these are screenshots taken in case of misfortune only:
