That's a Fluco 1-piece from Germany. Super soft calf leather, really comfortable.

            • MkXVIII tribute to MkXI
Never really been sold on the whole value for money aspect of Sellita-powered IWC pilots but I fell for this watch big time and was offered a deal I couldn't refuse on one of the 1948 of them. Gaping holes were left in the collection but this little lad is a good candidate for a one-watch its so versatile. The fit and finish is iwc-beautiful, their usual precision work, subtle brushing and super-clear crystal. 40mm wears like a dream and running less than +1s/day on its "cheap clone" movement (well we know they do some tinkering with them).
Traditional baton hands and some other changes make it a very different feeling watch from the standard MkXVIII. As a modern "tribute" to one of their most iconic military watches I think they have done a really good job. Some may object to faux lume as a matter of principle but for me it softens the dial from very austere black and white and makes the whole watch warmer and more approachable, a bit like an old mate - and I guess that is really what vintage watches are all about.

Beautifully clear to read, probably still the most important facet of any time piece.

i've been 'turned on' to bi-compact dials lately....this is my preferred layout. Nice sized sub dials. Well considered watch that one.
