    Hi guys,

I want to get a name and date engraved on a Rolex caseback. Has anyone had this work done before? Could you make a recommendation?

    Thank you,

Hi and welcome to the forum, Would think very careful about this as it will devalue the watch and make it hard to on sell in years to come, well that's my feeling about it, lets see what other members think..

      JM2CW,

(Unless you are loaded or a trust-fund baby) probably don't engrave the original caseback... rather, engrave something like this:

It didn't do Paul Newman's Daytona any harm
I'm beginning to think there might be something in this "climate change" after all. A few months ago it was freezing cold, and now it's quite warm!

Highly unlikely to have a Rolex named after me!
I have purchased a second caseback so the engraving will not be on the original.
              Still open to suggestions.......

North Shore. Have been to see Tim @ Milford Watch but not something they do in-house.

Maybe ask Colin Hollingsworth at Precision Watch Company in New Lynn or head in and speak to Peter Mintern at the Silversmith School in Kingsland.. those two aren’t beginners.

                        100% LeroyC

And so, I started with a Dremel, messed up heaps and heaps of things so I bought a Dremel 'Engraver' (lighter & easier to wield) and stuffed up even more things.

Normally 'practice makes perfect'... but for me, not in this case...

(If you hit young Timothy up about 1730hrs Friday, he should be solidly into Happy Hour, and quite likely to give the engraving (like below) a jolly good go..)

been watching a few videos on case and bracelet engraving lately, some rather talented individuals out there. lovely work but obviously never to be done to a holiest of all Rolex, the residuals, think about the residuals
