I was close to the EZM1 so I'm gonna count it, but would never have picked the IWC. Didn't realise you liked that one so much DW.

Good mod there, Pete I've seen quite a few SKX171K gone for bezel change--the dial is stunning in itself, but the stock bezel does get worn quite easily. Looks particularly nice with the -0020 bezel and aftermarket silver-tone insert.

I'm wearing another 1990s design, which IMO has aged extremely well through its 23 years of production--unchanged apart from slight case back detailing. The Citizen Automatic Diver's 200m NY0040 was never a head-turning, nor have I ever heard it being referred to as "beautiful" nor "stunning". The NY0040 has always lacked the I-want-one factor of its main competitor, the Seiko SKX007. Back in the mid-00s, I even thought the Orient 200m Mako/Ray was more aesthetically appealing. But the NY0040's design elements are enduring, plain enough from the outset that no one cared to copy them, but idiosyncratic enough to set it apart from all others in the market.

Even after a decade, the more I look at this watch, the more I see those quirky elements as carefully thought-out and executed. For a company that is often criticized by enthusiasts for abandoning good designs too early too often, for Citizen to have made this watch exactly the way you see it here for over two decades and still continuing the design in its now-2nd generation replacement is something to consider. To have done so with very little price increase over the years, not capitalizing on the Marina Militare legacy when every other watch company would have done so, is worthy of genuine respect.
On the instruments we entrust to pace our lives, to bear witness to our days, and to be the keepers of the most precious thing we have... time.

Orca is a treat to own. Artemis12's blue one is, I think, currently the only one on our board. That one on TM currently is very well priced.
