Getting arty today, ‘a study in bronze’. Weekend at the beach which should help with natural ageing.

Basically a year or 2 apart patina wise for each one. All natural patina.

It's a 20mm strap, the adapter ring is cut for 24mm but that would requite me breaking out a new strap, so as I often do I just use a wrong size... often a size small/large works just as well or better than the supposed 'correct size'.

The tan Zulu pictured is 4mm 'too small' but it works perfectly, actually better + makes the head pop and appear bigger.

            Cheers Brucy

              King Seiko 45-7000. November 1968

A relatively new pick-up for me. Been looking for a good example of this watch for a looonngg time. I had a preference for a KS from this era rather than a GS as it is a line that has ended. I wanted the hand cranking 45. I wanted the no-date version. And I wanted one from 1968 (my birth year). I had originally wanted an example from April 1968 which is my birth month and year but it proved impossible to find. April is apparently the first month of production for the KS 45-7000 but I have yet to see one that early - they all seem to be late 1968 like this example.

I couldn't be happier. The dial is a milky mother of pearl colour now. The size is perfect. I love the simple dial. And the movement has a well known story.
