    Hi,

Much as I would love to believe in the tooth fairy, I'm forced to conclude this PP Grand Complications is a counterfeit and not a $200-300k watch with a $1 reserve…

I tried reporting this to TM as either a poor deluded soul or more realistically a scam artist and an IP criminal. This is a new trader with 0 reputation, a stock photo and a thinly worded caveat emptor in the description.

I'm really dissapointed that TM wouldn't pull this. Somebody is gonna end up ripped off and over paying by 10-20 x for a fake. If anybody knows to alert TM, please feel free.

Does this sort of thing happen a lot on TM?

    Slade.

      Sighs.

Can't help feel dissappointed in TM lack of response. Yes I understand they're only in it for the success fees, but I kinda feel like they're an accomplice in the scam…

It's a beautiful looking watch, but a buyer is going to be very upset when it is appraised.

lol, I deleted my comment you are responding to, as I decided to post instead

Thing is, they have not got one single clue, neither do 99% of the greedy buyers.

I mean look, FFS, '196 people added this to their Watchlist', 196 potential victims.

'196 people added this to their Watchlist'

For what? To get placed in jeopardy that's all.

      This is the problem,

On another louiselouie listing 2851082035 for the Makita Screw Gun Kit people are reaching out and leaving phone numbers i.e. pls ring me on 0twoone25three7eight1six Cheers - stu12

stu12 is in fact, in all likelihood, very possibly after the watch.

We don't know if louiselouie has or will phone stu12

But this is how massive scams have run, lots of times, looks like nothing, especially when the watch gets pulled, but in fact the BAIT is there and the greedy minnow thinks it's beaten everyone to the punch and they think they are very clever, and they've taken the bait.

But the bait is off, they have in fact wasted a vast sum of their savings on a fake.

Should have joined a forum, instead of listening to Karen from Facebook.

        Yeah, it's sad but true.

I'm bought and sold a bit on TradeMe and in general I've been very impressed by the decency of most of the people I've met. It is a good thing to realise most people are quite honest, but it is also useful to be reminded that there are more than a few scumbags out there preying on the credulous and greedy...

It is a pity that TMs focus on the bottom-line seems to be preventing them from responding to such obvious scams.

        Cheers for the response.

        Slade.

As previously stated, waste of time for all concerned.

Lot of casting of bait, to a lot of minnows..

I'm glad that someone at TM (presumably) finally withdrew the auction…

                No,

                No one withdrew it.

                It ran till the end.

After it closed it was removed from the site.

                No one withdrew it.

louiselouie etc would have been asked for a picture of the item etc, they didn't provide one so, listing was removed from public view after the auction had run till the end, and finished.

                No one withdrew it.

                It was not withdrawn.

All the users who reported it wasted their time.

If there even is a watch it will be a fake. It is technically illegal to even possess a counterfeit in New Zealand let alone trade one so Trade Me are in fact party to a crime when that occurs. Good luck trying to get them investigated though, they are a small part of a big multi-national conglomerate and they have 1000s of lawyers at the ready. Trade Me are c%&(#s.
