Hi TKNZ,

Curios to hear if anyone has visited the new Seiko Boutique in Sydney? (in the QVB building). Worth a visit?

It would be rude not to give it a passing look if you were in the area....

Visited it in May. On basement level of QV Building. A fair bit of stock and most of the latest releases. Staff fairly knowledgeable; however all at full RRP and no offer of trades. Worth a look to try but cheaper places to buy I would expect.

Went earlier in the year... definitely cheaper places to buy, must admit I rocked up fairly casual and got a bit of snob factor from the staff but I was blow away by the full retail price point

I also called in a month or two ago, found the two ladies very approachable and knowledgeable. It was interesting to see all the latest models, but as has been mentioned, at full RRP,which of course Seiko are obliged to do to avoid upsetting their own local retailers. The same watches are obtainable here in NZ from the few Seiko Prestige dealers, and if the right approach is made probably at a better price.

I also ended up visiting in September when in Sydney, as well as a watch store in The Strand arcade (which had numerous brands, Seiko included). The Strand store was definitely open to negotiation; Seiko Boutique not so, as others have already noted.

I found one trait of both stores strange, and that was their way of wrapping the bracelets in plastic (and some of the faces also), which made even the prettiest of pieces pretty ugly to feel and view...not a great watch-buying experience for trying in the wrist.
